The Institute for Human Genetics now comprises 72 faculty members, 69 active and 3 emeritus.

Faculty research interests are very broad, ranging across a variety of prenatal, pediatric and adult conditions, as well as methodologic areas. In the disease realm, our researchers are focusing on everything from cancer to cardiovascular disease; from diabetes to movement disorders; from autism and bipolar disorder to craniofacial development; from infectious and autoimmune diseases to pharmacogenetics.

Our faculty members are in the forefront of methodological developments in areas such as human evolution and population genetics, genetic epidemiology, computational genomics, molecular methods, functional genomics, reproductive decision making, and bioethics. Not simply following current trends in human genetics, our researchers are defining and applying the technologies that are transforming human biology and health care.
